Yeah Dior Made A Sweatband And Yeah I Bought It

This was an impulse buy at the age of 13 when anything Dior was enticing even if it was a sweatband...
This brings the lolz as it always reminds me of Dior's bizarrely long-lived Rasta phase - anyone else remember that? - which lasted for more seasons than was healthy. I think it was finally killed when they put red, green and yellow Rasta stripes on a pair of their obnoxious (not that I can bandy that word about since I bought their SWEATBAND) moon boots and someone in the head office died a little inside.

Shiny Shiny

(sorry these pictures are so damn small! Clockwise, Chanel earrings x2, YSL ring, vintage rasta lion necklace, YSL bracelet and ginormous Chanel cuff that I don't wear in case I look like an automatron)

I think it's important that you have jewellery you can refer to as 'Jewels' (said like a duchess). I've been collecting vintage Chanel costume jewellery for a couple of years of now, mostly get pieces at Christie's but Rellik has also proved a great source in the past. Vintage costume jewellery is an excellent investment in my mind - one you can wear for a start! - I've seen similar earrings to the ones featured at already triple the price I bought them for. Well that's my attempt to intellectualise my love of shiny things anyway.

Mama's Got A Brand New Bag

A Christmas present and distant cousin of this baby featured on Lulu and Your Mom:

It is the inkiest velvet you will ever see, I'm glad to see this style of bag (bucket?) making a return in the fashion world - we weren't quite ready for it when Fendi tried a few seasons ago despite the Olsens' admirable attempts to improve its reputation by carrying them everywhere:

Olsens Obsessive

But Prada is bringing them back with a vengeance!
